静安区图书馆为文化部一级图书馆，多次被评为上海市文明单位。由三个馆舍组成，分别坐落于静安寺商圈洒满梧桐光影的新闸路、苏河湾畔与铁路博物馆隔街相望的天目中路、以及人口稠密的彭浦新村闻喜路。数十个多功能服务窗口成为市民学习、交流、休闲的温馨空间和知识殿堂，海关楼专题阅览室、商务印书馆版本主题馆、聋文化文献中心及数字化图书馆特色服务营造优质阅读氛围。
静图积极探索整合文化资源，推出各类读书活动及服务项目。静安读书周、涵芬讲堂、书香环游、白领朗诵沙龙、午后阳光读书会、向日葵亲子乐园、名家名作校园行构建以书会友的心灵驿站，打造“悦读静安”系列阅读推广品牌；“读者1号”流动图书车、20余家与商务楼宇共建的图书室“都市书坊”提供融入式的贴心服务。
静图目前已开通微信及APP，在数字技术支撑下，突破空间、时间限制，更加注重与读者的双向交流，提供更为快捷优质的借阅服务，同时开展多元线上线下活动，为读者开辟阅读新空间。
Composed of three Branch Libraries which are respectively located in Xinzha Road, Middle Tianmu Road and Wenxi Road, Jing'an District Library is graded as Nation Level One Library by the Ministry of Culture and elected as Shanghai ‘Model Unit’ many times consecutively.
Xinzha Road Library is situated on a quiet street full of phoenix trees and the ground & pavements underneath these trees are checkered with sunlight and shade. And it is conveniently located adjacent to Jing'an Temple CBD, the leading business district of central Shanghai. Tianmu Road Library is located on Middle Tianmu Road, near Suzhou Creek bay area (Suhewan). On the other side of the street, there lies Shanghai Railway Museum. Wenxi Road Library is located in the densely populated Pengpu Xincun.
Providing dozens of multi-functional service windows for citizens, Jing'an District Library has constructed a warm and cozy space for study, communication and leisure; and the Library has also become a Palace of Knowledge open to the general public. Providing featured services such as the Customs Building Special Collections Reading Room, the Commercial Press Version Theme Pavilion, the Special Collections Reading Room about deaf culture documents and Digital library etcetera, Jing'an District Library has created an outstanding reading atmosphere with good quality.
Jing'an District Library has been actively exploring the integration of cultural resources by bringing forth various reading activities and service items. There are reading activities throughout the whole year, such as Jing'an Reading Festival, Tours around Literary Corners, Han Fen Lecture Hall, White-collar Poetry Recitation Salon, Afternoon Sunshine Reading Club, Sunflower Parent-offspring Paradise, Famous Masterpieces Campus Tour etc. We plan to construct a book friendly Heart Station and to build a series of reading promotion brands called Enjoy Reading in Jing'an. A mix of intimate services fused together is available to the public, such as the Mobile Library Van named Readers NO.1 and over 20 Urban Bookshops libraries which are jointly constructed with multiple commercial buildings in Jing'an District.
Jing'an District Library has already opened up WeChat public platform subscription number service and APP service. With the support of digital technology, we have broken through the limitation of space & time and have been able to pay more attention to the two-way communications with readers; and we have made it possible to provide faster lending services with higher quality; we have been able to carry out diversified activities both online and offline so as to create a new space for readers.
静安区图书馆（新闸路馆）于1958年建馆，位于新闸路1702-1708号，建筑面积6280平方米，阅览座席792个。全馆由综合楼和海关楼两幢建筑组成。综合楼内设中文书刊外借室、报刊阅览室、参考阅览室、中文文献第一阅览室、中文文献第二阅览室、报告厅、视听放映室、多媒体阅览室、自修室。海关楼原为海关图书馆，建于1931年，是英式风格优秀历史建筑，内设文化展厅、专题阅览室。
静安区图书馆（新闸路馆）以书画艺术类和海关类图书为馆藏特色。书画艺术类图书收藏了《中国美术全集》、《中国现代美术全集》、《中国古代书画图目》、《淳化阁帖》、《中国法帖全集》、《米芾书法全集》、《敦煌石窟艺术全集》、《良友画报》等艺术精品。海关类图书收藏了《中国旧海关史料》、《中国旧海关与近代社会图史》、《美国哈佛大学图书馆藏末刊中国旧海关史料》（1860-1949）、《中国海关志》、《中国近代海关总税务司通令全编》等珍贵海关史料。
Jing'an District Library (Xinzha Road Library) was opened to the public in 1958. Located from No. 1702 to No.1708 , Xinzha Road, it covers a building area of 6280 square meters and has 792 reading room seats. The Library consists of a comprehensive building & the Customs Building. Inside the comprehensive building, there are Chinese Books Borrowing Room, Newspaper & Periodical Reading Room, Reference Literature Reading Room, Chinese Literature Reading Room I,Chinese Literature Reading Room Ⅱ, Auditorium, Audio-visual Room, Multi-media Reading Room and Self-study Room. Built in 1931, the Customs Building is an outstanding historical building in British architectural style, which was formerly named ROC Customs Library. Inside the Customs building, there are Multi-purpose Cultural Exhibition Hall and Special Collections Reading Room.
Shanghai Jing'an District Library (Xinzha Road Library) collects books in painting & calligraphy art and customs. Painting and calligraphy art books collection includes Chinese Art Collection, Complete Works of Modern Art in China, List of Illustrations of Ancient Chinese Calligraphy and Painting, Chunhua-ge Copybook, Mi Fu Calligraphy Complete Works, The Complete Works of Dunhuang Grotto Art, Liang-You Pictorial and so on. The customs books collection includes Historical Data of Chinese Maritime Customs, An Illustrated History of Chinese Maritime Customs and Modern Society, Unpublished Chinese Maritime Customs Historical Materials (1860-1949) in Harvard University Libraries , USA, Chinese Customs Annals, The Complete Collection of Orders Made by General Tax Department of Modern Chinese Customs and other precious customs historical materials.
静安区图书馆（闻喜路馆）建于2012年，位于闻喜路800号，馆舍建筑面积为4800㎡，共三层。其中，一楼为一体化的图书借阅室；二楼为少儿馆、活动小舞台、全国文化信息共享工程观摩厅；三楼为报刊杂志阅览室、多功能厅、商务印书馆版本主题馆、专家研究室、会议室。
静安区图书馆（闻喜路馆）致力于建设以RFID数字借阅系统、24小时自助借还书及电子报纸为核心的数字化图书馆。以商务印书馆版本主题馆为特色馆藏，通过征集、拍卖、捐赠等方式收藏商务印书馆旧版图书、实物、图片资料，使历史文脉得以留存与延续。设置地方文献专题书架，收集、整理上海市及原闸北区地方文献资料，为读者提供服务。

Jing'an District Library (Wenxi Road Library) was built in 2012 and located at No.800 Wenxi Road. This Library has three storeys and covers a building area of 4800 square meters. Among them, the first floor is Integrative Books Borrowing Room. On the second floor, there are Children’s Library, Small Stage for activities, and a View Hall for National Cultural Information Resources Sharing Project. On the third floor, there are Newspapers and Magazines Reading Room, Multi-purpose Hall, the Commercial Press Version Theme Pavilion, Experts Research Office, Conference Room and so on.
Jing'an District Library (Wenxi Road Library) is committed to the construction of a Digital Library mainly focusing on the RFID digital borrowing library system, 24-hour Self-service Borrowing and Returning system, and electronic newspapers. Shanghai Jing'an District library (Wenxi Road Library) is characterized by its special collections in the Commercial Press Version Theme Pavilion, and preserves historical contexts by collecting old books, material objects & image data of the Commercial Press through recruitment, auction and donation. Besides, Local Literature Special Bookshelf has been set up by collecting and sorting out Shanghai and Former Zhabei District local literature documents to provide services for readers.

静安区图书馆（天目路馆）创建于1956年，位于苏河湾畔天目中路2号，外观造型采用通透、轻盈的折扇式穿孔铝板，远看像一本本书籍有序排列，形成“天光、树影、书香”于一体的人文氛围。馆内设有幼儿区、青少年区、借阅区、报刊阅览区、综合阅览区、多功能区、研讨室，为区域内各类读者群体提供优质服务。
天目路馆以苏河湾为主题特色，构建“文学馆”、“经济馆”、“艺术馆”、“人文馆”、“生活馆”五大特色藏书体系，以“静图约书”网借平台为依托，拓展线上线下服务网络，打造一个融汇多元信息、汇聚各类社群的信息中心、城市客厅与市民课堂，让静安高品质城市空间更可亲近，阅读体验更具魅力。
Tianmu Road Library, located at No.2 Middle Tianmu Road and situated on the bank of the Suzhou River, is a branch of Jing'an District Library. It was built in 1956. The external facade of the building is composed with folding fan styled aluminum panels which are well-ventilated and lightweight. From a distance, the panels look like orderly arranged books and create a cultural atmosphere by the combination of light, tree shadows and book fragrance. There are seven areas in the library, i.e. Children’s Service Area, Teenagers’ Service Area, Lending Service Area, Newspapers & Periodicals Reading Service Area, Comprehensive Reading Service Area, Multi-functional Area and Seminar Room. All of these areas offer quality service for various groups of readers.
Tianmu Road Library is characterized by Suzhou River and has collected special resources concerning literature, economy, art, humanities and life. Relying upon the network lending platform (Jalib Online Booking), the library has extended its online and offline service. Tianmu Road Library is not only a significant center, which integrates diverse information and gathers various communities, but also a palace of knowledge for citizens’ life-long education. These efforts make the library more intelligent and convenient, which facilitate the cultural life of the citizens and attract more readers.
静安区少年儿童图书馆位于康定东路28号，主体建筑为安妮女王复兴风格，建筑面积为1025平方米，阅览座席146个，藏书量5万册。少儿图书馆不仅具有公共文化服务功能，其建筑本身，也成为城区中独具风格的文化标志。
少儿图书馆主要面向16岁以下的青少年儿童读者，以少儿绘本类图书为馆藏特色。馆藏资源丰富、图书形式多样、覆盖面广泛，设置低幼部和借阅部。
一楼低幼部，拥有大量适合低幼龄儿童阅读的书籍。如中外优秀绘本、经典名著插画版、中英双语读物、少儿百科丛书等等。其中包括世界绘本大师的系列作品，还有题材丰富、内容新颖、形式多样的幼儿启蒙教育读物。这些书籍不仅成为开展亲子阅读活动的载体，还在普及健康知识、增加安全意识、培养语言能力等方面对幼儿产生积极作用。另外，在一楼还设立了“国防军事教育区”，有丰富的航空航天、军事科技、国防装备等相关主题的书籍供读者选择。
二楼借阅部，图书种类更多，年龄跨度更大。拥有大量人文社科类书籍，以满足从小学到高中各年龄阶段青少年儿童的阅读学习的需求。如中外文学名著、英文原版小说、中国古典诗词鉴赏等等。同时，定期根据读者需求，设立专题书架，如“国际安徒生奖”获得者曹文轩作品专架，红色经典文学专架等等。这些书籍不仅给少儿提供了一个开放、多元的阅读空间，也成为了他们开拓视野、创新探索的良好途径。
少儿图书馆将传统服务模式与现代创新理念相结合，打造一个寓教于乐的少儿“悦读”天地。内部实行借阅一体开架服务，保存有绘本、连环画、期刊、中外著名作家代表作等，并引进ipad互动多媒体系统和RFID自助借还系统，设有电子阅览室及多媒体体验区。小读者进入馆舍就能置身优雅环境，既呈现一个自然生态绿色区域，又是一个现代化的少年儿童温馨阅读、快乐成长的乐园。
The Jing'An Children's Library is situated on No.28 East Kang Ding Road. The main architectural style of it is the unique Queen Anne Style and the library covers approximately 1025 square meters with 146 seats and about 50000 books for reading and borrowing. The function of the Jing'An Children' Library is not only in terms of its public culture service but also regarding one of the cultural icons of Shanghai.
The Jing'An Children's Library mainly serves for young readers who are under 16 years old. The most distinguished features are the Illustrated books for young readers in Jing’An Children's Library. It has a rich collection of books, covering a wide range of topics. There are two reading areas which are called the Young Children Section and the General-loan Section respectively in it.
To begin with, the Young Children Section area is located on the first floor, covering a wide range of books for elementary education such as foreign and Chinese illustrated books, classical picture books, Chinese-English bilingual books, and the encyclopedia for young children. These books are not only helpful to improve the family relationship but also play the crucial goal in teaching the knowledge of health, raising awareness of safety, and enhancing language abilities. In addition, the library has a special reading corner related to national defense education with books on the subjects of aerospace, military technology, and national defense equipment.
The General-loan Section area is located on the second floor. There is a large number of books on Humanity and Social Science for children and teenagers in order to meet different reading demands of all kinds of young people, which include foreign and Chinese literature classics, English novels, Chinese classical poetry and appreciation books, etc. Meanwhile, there are several distinguished and particular book shelves on this area in terms of different themes such as the shelves involving the works of Cao Wen Xuan, a winner of Hans Christian Andersen Award and the shelves involving the books related to the Chinese revolutionary. Above all, the Jing'An Children's library is a place where not only can it provide readers with diversified books but also is helpful to broaden readers' horizons.
The Jing'An Children's Library aims at creating a pleasant reading space and atmosphere for children through the vivid and diverse activities. There are a lot of books can be read and borrowed on the shelves such as illustrated books, picture books, magazines and representative works of the famous foreign and Chinese writers in the world. Readers have access to the iPad interactive catalogue, the RFID self-service, the digital reading room and the multimedia area. Our young readers enjoy reading in such an eco-friendly and modern reading space.
